Louise Nevelson in Catania

There's a little piece of NYC here in Catania these days.
A Louise Nevelson exhibit.
Rooms full of small to enormous
striking, inspiring, beautiful, relevant
makes you want to start hammering nails into wood
sculptures.
Painted all black - shadowy, the sum of all colors.
Or all white - purity.
Or all gold - shimmering like the sun.
A life story that's real and full of things to inspire
like hard work and dedication,
even during hard times,
being a woman in a man's world.
And then visionary things,
the feeling that you are witness to
something larger than life,
a creative  energy.
A feeling you get when experiencing the
remains of a person
who has lived life doing what they love
creating objects that make you
feel connected,
part of something beautiful and meaningful,
a gift to the world.
