"Can we explore down there on the rocks, Mama?" I almost hesitated, but wound up agreeing to my son's request. I'm so glad I did!
We walked down the short flight of stairs and sat down on some rocks, or at least I did. The 6-year old continued on, hopping from rock to rock on this climbing-friendly stretch of black lava.
I was comfortably happy on the smooth, worn rock I had chosen as my seat. Small waves crashed on the shore, stirring the air into a refreshing breeze. Water filled up the cracks between the rocks and then disappeared with the shifting tide, following the push and pull of the waves.
It is also "the make out" spot for high school kids that come to park on this quiet street. And a popular route for joggers, bikers and dog walkers. There are a few restaurants and beach clubs here too. Not sure about the cleanliness of the water here, but it is a great place for everything rock related!
