Just back from another wonderful trip visiting my family in Los Angeles. It was all about spending quality time with family and friends, eating favorite ethnic foods, and of course shopping American style. But you can only shop and eat and just hang out so much! To keep things interesting were the many local excursions revisiting some of my favorite old haunts and discovering some new ones, too. The LA area is a huge metropolis and if you are willing to drive and not be intimidated by a little traffic (okay, a lot of traffic), the choices are endless and much fun is to be had....

Wow, I've only ever seen the airport of LA. I hope one day I have time to see it a bit more of it.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to have some ethnic food back home in Alaska. We may be living in Italy, which of course has the best food in the world, but I'm craving some variety.
Hello Karen - So LA is where you've been! You're a California girl, I forgot. It must have been culture shock after being in Sicily. Happy to hear you and your family had a great time. Glad to see you back here too! xo

ReplyDeleteHi karen. Always fun to stubble upon other ex pat bloggers in sicily. Well, I am not a blogger for Sicily which is where I live now but instead I have a blog for my property which is in Piemonte. Anyway, I live in Palermo. Moved here a few months ago from London (though I am originally from San Deigo) with my husband and our little boy who just turned 6 months. Although he is from Palermo he has not lived here for over 15 years so we are both doing lots of discovery. He told me that the carinval in Acrireale was the best one on the island. I figure as you live near Catania that you might have a view if it is special and worth the 3 hour drive and an overnight in a hotel. I would appreciate your view. Thanks.
